Motion Graphics

Idents
Client : Myriad

As part of the design process for Myriads stand at the Mobile World congress, we had designed a matrix of screens and were engaged to create the content for them; there were six screens mounted together forming a large long screen as well as several smaller screens set around the main one. SGee conceived and created three animated brand ident’s based on Myriads three core brand values, Empowerment, Expertise and Simplicity.

Num3ers
Client : Myriad

Myriad briefed a requirement for a short animated film that would be used as part of an internal communications campaign. They was a concern as the company was spread over several countries and cultures, that those working for Myriad were unaware of how successful they had become, how well they were achieving their goals and how each employee was a key part of that success. read more

MWC Cluster Sequence
Client : Myriad

Putting the GreyScale Gorillas animated cubes tutorials to good use a sequence was created for a large video screen at the recent MWC show in Barcelona. (see Myriad Ident's) Unlike the tutorial we didn't want to have the same cube size across the screen but did want to use the same technique. This meant rendering four separate passes for each small group of cubes and then putting them back together in After Effects, amounting to just over 50,000 frames. Probably a stupid way to do it but the only one I knew at the time.

The Original Gorillas tutorial can be found here

The Cloud - Directors Cut
Client : The Cloud

As with most creative projects the original concept does tend to get watered down due to budget constraints, clients requirements and differing opinions. In the case of The Cloud we all felt that the use of the textured figures could work against us as the budget didn't allow us the time required to animate them sufficiently to make them life like, hence the reason from an early stage to go with a silhouette, to separate the Cloud users from the rest of the 3D world. This is not to say that the final piece doesn't answer the brief just my desire to see the final film as I originally intended.(This version is missing the text) read more

Pancom Motion Graphics
Client : Panasonic

This reel showcases some of the motion graphics created for the Pancom Espionage film for Panasonic. (See the film) The designs were conceived in Illustrator and then taken into AfterEffects; however in the case of the 3D buildings these were both conceived and created in AfterEffects, the animated people created using Movie Storm’s Machinima software. The final look was very retro nineties with influences coming from Iron Man and the Bourne Trilogy.

City Presentation
Client : Myriad

Myriad required an engaging presentation to showcase the milestones they had achieved to their stakeholders and the rest of the company. The solution was to create a Myriad City containing all the key messages with an energetic camera animation backed with a thumping sound track. (Due to licensing constraints the audio has been removed)

Machinima - Prologue
Chemistry

This film short started as a test using Short-Fuzes Movie-storm, game engine driven software that allows you to build your own movie sets, create your characters and direct the action in a virtual world. Using traditional post-production techniques in conjunction with the software the film short went onto to win several categories in the Machinima awards. Music by Cold Storage.

NCP Product Film
Client : Panasonic

Creating exciting punchy trailers can be a challenge when the only visual reference is a black box! Taking on board the key benefits of Panasonics Network Communications Platform we weaved a sequence together using 3D animation to tell the product's story. This trailer was the front end of a flash presenter that provided information and technical data and provided a fantastic tool for the sales teams.
